College Final Project: Liberation

This is my college final year project and this is my first ever proper animation. So, some scenes may feel a little janky. Enjoy!

"The story revolves around the ancient Sparta era and happens during the Peloponnesian war."

Catherine, Helios’s wife, gives birth. She always regretted this because if it’s a boy they have no choice but to let their son become a soldier once he hits that age. Unfortunately, males are viewed as military machines or as the country's slaves to war, which is why Catherine wants to stop this cycle of innocent children becoming soldiers. Her final request to Helios was to find a strategy to prevent the Peloponnesian War and the operations that leads to it.

"What happened in the war is, Spartans marched to Athens. The Athenians didn’t come out and fight. So the Spartans began burning their farms to let them starve. So obviously, killing one another was the only option left to the Athenians."

In my narrative, Spartans marched back to Sparta to reassemble and devise a more effective strategy to annihilate Athens. This is where Helios speaks out and shares his views on the war. Considering his strategy, the Spartans decide to propose a peace deal to Athens.

Spoiler -

When the Athenians learn about this bargain, they change it into something far more honorable. One-on-one combat between the strongest soldier in Athens against Helios. (To stop putting so many lives at risk)

(Helios has a reason to go about this fight because the man he’s about to fight, Prometheus, is the one who killed his father, Leonidas. He was killed and burned alive.)

The objective of the plan -

Sparta will rule Athens if Helios succeeds, and vice versa. Whoever gets control will not take part in any violence against those people. THE RULERS CHANGE. NOT THE WAY OF LIFE.
